Bowling Tutorials Teach A Person How To Deliver A Bowling Ball
A person must knock down the pins to score points in bowling. Some people find it difficult to roll the bowling ball and hit the pins. Many times if the balls are “railed”, they get frustrated and eventually lose a game. It is important to learn the basics of bowling from the footwork to the release of the ball.
Tutorials may help a person be more precise and exact with striking the pins. The delivery of the ball is important in this game. If a person is able to execute the ball as he did to achieve the previous strike then the following deliveries will result in similar strikes. Consistency must be practiced in this sport - that is why they call bowling a game of repetition.
There are lessons to teach intermediate bowling techniques that will help a person learn how to strike consistently and leave no pins standing. Here are steps on learning the basics:
1. A player may pick up the ball and walk straight towards the foul line. This will be his starting position; or he may turn with his back to the pins before turning to face the pins.
2. It is not advisable to position the ball in the center of the body; it is better if the ball is held at his side so that it will be easier for him to execute a straight arm swing.
3. Before he turns to face the pins and aiming before the delivery, he must relax and take a deep breath to take away the tension and pressure in the body that affects the way a player will deliver the ball.
4. If the person is right handed, he must use his right foot as his first step position and left handed bowler would use his left foot. These positions are to favor the strong side of the body so that he can deliver the ball comfortably.
5. He must hold the ball away from his body, make a consistent out, and down movement with the ball. When the ball is positioned for the back swing he may take his third step, and then swing the ball for the release as his final step.
Movements and executions are important in the delivery of the ball. The way he releases the ball and knows the basic movements will allow a player to make strikes on the pins. He must remember to keep the motion smooth and precise for a better performance when bowling.

Help answer the question about Bowling Balls
Is there a difference between the bowling balls at the bowling alley and the ones that pros use?
I am at the bowling alley using their balls, and I can't seem to get the ball to spin like the professions do on TV where the ball goes from the center to the edge near the gutter and back to the middle or even like the amateurs at the bowling alley who have their own balls. It seems like it naturally goes straight at an angle to the gutter then rotates straight back at the center of the alley. I don't suppose they are all palming it with 2 fingers. It is because the holes of the fingers and thumb hole are futher apart that naturally makes the ball curve back?
Thanks in advance for the answers!

Without knowing your dad's style of bowling it's hard to determine the correct ball for him. However, you did ask for which bowling balls are the best out there are where to purchase. The best deals you're going to find is going to be either on buddiesproshop.com or bowlersparadise.com. Hammer is a very good company now. The Black Widow is a great bowling ball as is the Black Widow Pearl. At this point in time i wouldn't purchase any Brunswick equipment. Columbia' Resurgence is also a good ball. You could go with Ebonite's NV or NVS. Finally the Morich LevRG might be a good pick up (professional bowler Walter Ray Williams Jr. throws it and has won 1 title and finished 3 out of 2 U.S. tournaments this year). Again it's hard to say which is best for your father without knowing how he normally plays the lanes. The Black Widow is the hot seller right now and it seems you can't go wrong with it. Hope this helps.
Oh and he doens't need 16 pounds, he can get away with 15 pounds and have the same if not stronger ball reaction.

Unless you have your own bowling ball drilled to fit your hand, hooking coverstock/core bowling balls, intermediate skill, it may be difficult to emulate how the professional bowlers deliver the ball with just the polyester or urethane house bowling balls. They are not high performance bowling balls by any stretch, but I've seen bowlers that palm the bowling ball using only their fingers deliver it like the pros.
For me, I've had lots of experience in the sport and can even deliver a house ball in a way that I can strike with. You don't have to deliver the ball like the pros because there is no such thing. Professional bowlers need to throw their strike balls either straight from the outside, the center of the lane and by using inside line targets. Walter Ray Williams and Tommy Jones are like night and day, but if they need to, they can both hook and/or throw a straight ball when the lane conditions dictate it.
I can make my polyester Elite Alien spare ball act like my Brunswick Fuze and PBA Inferno with a rainbow hook, but only when the lanes are totally bone dry. Just practice and experiment. That's how you can fine tune your game and build your average up.
